This month in Paris: an afternoon of aimless wandering through the Palais-Royal with an Indonesian-spiced croissant in hand, a mysterious elegant lady at café Kitsuné who turns out to be a former Japanese supermodel, a baroque violin concert three feet from the musicians in a hospital chapel, a deep dive into the world of stuffed animals with a shopkeeper who never throws a teddy bear away, news from Phoenix where a daughter and her wushu partner compete in person while Mum competes online, and an entire day spent exploring a single Paris street — galleries, tarot cards, Norwegian raincoats and all.
 
Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you don't plan. In May, we wander through a Paris that exists nowhere else: through a quartier steeped in royal history, through a shopkeeper's stories of rescued dolls, through a single street that holds an entire day.
