Writing.

This is what I'm offering you for the autumn months (1 October to 31 December 2026), with a subscription for just 3 months: over three months, you'll progress in written expression, and therefore in overall fluency in French. We listen, we notice, and we write.

And when you know how to write in French, you speak better French too. That's the theme of this autumn offer.

How does it work?

1. You listen to the podcast (always just a few minutes on a cultural topic or daily life in Paris — true stories, nothing invented).

2. I point out turns of phrase that I find particularly interesting.

3. You build on the phrases you've noticed and on the writing exercises I suggest, to write a few sentences of your own.

 

What's the programme?

In October, we'll be doing a "FrenchTober" : a daily writing challenge. It runs alongside the episodes, but complements the goal of this autumn offer beautifully: writing.
From mid-November, we'll be reading a Patrick Modiano novel together.
Alongside all this, you'll also have the usual episodes.

Why does writing matter?

Writing is the natural complement to comprehension when you want to speak better.
You can't really speak well, or feel at ease, if you don't first take the time to write. Taking the time to write, to carefully construct your sentences, is the solid and essential foundation of spoken fluency.

How much time does it take?

You read the text and the cultural notes at your own pace, and do the short exercises on paper. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes in total: a few minutes of listening, then a little time to read and write, at your own rhythm. And that's it! With a little consistency, a little curiosity, and well-balanced effort, you'll make real progress.

Does this 3-month format actually work?

Yes: everyone who answered the summer offer survey said they'd enriched their vocabulary, many feel more at ease speaking or find they understand spoken French better, and most read and used the accompanying guide from start to finish. As one subscriber put it: "I always start by listening to the podcast, then later I read the text aloud and underline the words and turns of phrase I don't know…" That's the kind of progress I'm inviting you to carry on into the autum,  with writing added in.

No : this subscription gives you the texts, the exercises, and access to previous months.
