October French Writing Challenge
Every day in October, one short prompt to get you writing in French. Free.
You understand French, but when it's time to speak, the words don't come together? Writing is the answer. Building good sentences on paper is how you learn to build them out loud: better writing leads to better speaking.
What is FrenchTober?
Inspired by Inktober, FrenchTober is a free 31-day writing challenge for learners from A2 to C1. It's a podcast: every day from 1 October, a new episode brings you the day's prompt. Each one lasts no more than a minute and a half, so it fits into any day.
This year's theme is cooking. We start gently, with a single sentence a day in the first week, then build up step by step until you're writing a full text in the final week.
How does it work?

Listen to the day's prompt on your favourite podcast app, or watch it on YouTube.

Write your answer in French: in a notebook, on your phone, wherever you like.

Share it if you want to! Post your text in the comments under the day's video on YouTube, read what others have written, and cheer each other on. The comments are a place to share and encourage each other, not a correction service. Sharing is entirely optional: what matters is that you write.
Missed a day? No problem. All the prompts stay available, so you can catch up at your own pace.
